Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>work_remotely (more info?)

Greetings, In an attempt to help a friend using remote assist as the
expert, I get an error after connection screen opens: "fsStart()
generated error 481, Invalid picture inside FAILSAFE.BAS". screen locks
up and only option in assist screen, not grayed out is "disconnect".

I am running XP pro, current.
novice is running XP home, current.

no routers, both have cable modems, with good, working CX

Nothing in MS-remote/assist KB regarding this issue.

I found one reference to this error on the net. it mentions a non
standard bitmap file format/header, created during SAVE.

I had both systems load and re save the background bitmap images to
attain a current bitmap format, no joy

Anybody out there have any suggestions or hints

Thank you for your help
