When I try to use Windows DVD Maker it shuts down after I select some video
files that I want to burn to a disc, when I click "Next". Then I get a
message (after Vista searches online) that there is a fix for the problem and
I need to use regsvr32 to unregister lmpgd140.ax. When I attempt to do this
I get an error code 0x8007005 with instructions to search on that code. When
I search I don't find anything that specifically applies to this situation.
Does anyone know how to address this problem? |

A google search suggests that you need to run that command from a
command window which was opened with elevated privileges: right-click
on the Command Window icon and pick 'Run as Admininstrator'. Then try
again. |

Thanks, Don, I was already logged in as administrator so didn't think I would
need to run the command prompt as administrator additionally. Anyway thats
what made the difference. For anyone else encountering this problem, I also
had to run regsvr32 and unregister another lmp... I forgot the file and
someone closed my command prompt window, but you have to go to c:\ProgramData
subdirectory to do it. I just now successfully burned a disc.

From my googling I believe you can do exactly what Chuck did,
and unregister Impgd10.ax using the regsvr32 /u command.
As a simpler alternative you can try renaming or moving that
file to your Desktop so Vista can't see it.
What I can't tell you is where Impgd10.ax came from or what
might happen to your third-party multimedia apps when you
disable it. |

Hi
I too cannot get DVD maker to work - it shuts down when i click on next
after adding an item ..... and then nothing. I don't get the error message
that others have reported.
I tried to unregister the Impgd140.ax file using regsvr32 but got the
following error message:
To register a module, you must provide a binary name.
Usage: regsvr32 [/u] [/s] [/u] [/i[cmdline]] dllname ......etc
What does this mean?????
I have aso tried to locate it and move it as otherwise suggested but cannot
find it!
Any suggestions?

well I've got the same problem.
Only...
I don't have Impgd10.ax
any idea's there?
PS.. Windows dvd maker gives an error and then it says that it has a
solution to the problem
This problem was caused by Indeo® audio software, which was created by Intel
Corporation.
Intel Corporation has informed Microsoft that this product is no longer
needed and can be disabled or uninstalled.
And I don"t even have that file either
So...
Please help
