This is not a review of the treo but just a rant about the hefty price
tag and the features. It just seems to me that the device should do
more than it does. My old phone allowed me to record my conversations
(always with permission) and it stored them with a date/time stamp. It
also allowed me to create an alert by choosing a date and time and
recording a voice memo rather then typing out the information. At the
specified time the phone would beep and repeat the voice memo (dental
appointment). If I choose to password protect my treo I must type the
password each time to access it. Shouldn't they already be using a
fingerprint reader by now? I could aways use the keypad as a backup. I
also noticed that the Treo does not look like it will survive a drop
on a hard surface. By now these devices should all be ruggedized. I
could go on and on but I think I've made my point. Yes, I can watch
videos and chat and do all kinds of entertaining things but those
features are really useless time killers. The one coo feature that I
do like is bluetooth.

We should not be so willing to plunk down several hundred dollars on a
mediocore device.
BTW, mine was free.

If it's Verizon, I'll take it.

Assuming thats not your plan - is this your first palm device? One
thing that makes palm devices so useful is the wealth of add-on
software. Some of its free, some costs a little - but you can find
almost anything. Try handango.com, mytreo,net, palmgear.com, etc.

And you should not need to enter your password everytime - I only have
to do it every few hours. Are you using the Security app? Mine has a
setting to lock after so many minutes or hours. I use 2 hours. Plus I
use one of several apps that let me send an SMS message to lock it, or
erase it - if I really have lost it.

Let me know if I can help with anything.

Dan

Since you are unhappy with your 700p I am willing to buy it from
you. It must be Sprint compatible. Contact me offline if
interested.
