Can't sync

I have 2 pdas,an XDA and a Dell. the old Dellx5 which I use mainly for GPS
as it has CF slot and I have CF GPS card. The XDA doesn't have a CF slot.
However I can't activesync the Dell anymore whether due to internal fault
or cable. I need to reinstall some software and drivers. Can I install
them on my XDA which does sync, and transfer to the Dell via infra red or
transfer the files from the XDA to the Dell by using a memory card. If so
where are the files stored? I need to install memory-map on the Dell but
it needs to be activesynced to receive the license from the PC. I
installed it on the XDA with the intention of transfering the license to
the Dell by IR but can't locate where the license details are stored.
