I've upgraded to the latest ActiveSync. I have Win2000Pro
and a Compaq iPAQ 3870 connected via USB.
When I plug in the pda it syncs ok, I can change details
on either the pc or the pda and resync occurs fine. I
don't often have to reboot the pc, but after I do, I can
only sync once. That is, all changes are found and updated
and within about a minute I get the "disconnect" sound and
no further updates are possible.
I've rebooted the pda and the pc to no avail. I
reinstalled ActiveSync which fixed the problem, but only
until I rebooted the pc. Then back to disconnect after
about a minute.
Has anyone else experienced this or know what I can do
about it? Let me know if you need further details.
Thanks a lot

Rather than reboot the computer, have you tried performing a soft
reset of your Pocket PC?
If you use RESYNC (http://www.cewindows.net/applications/resync.htm)
to kill and restart the ActiveSync process, can you synchronize again
without a reboot?

Rob,
I wasn't rebooting the pc to get ActiveSync working again,
but rather for some other reason (software install or
whatever), and it is *after* such a reboot that I start
getting problems. I did try resetting the PocketPC, etc.,
and so far all I have found that works is reinstalling
ActiveSync.
I have downloaded the app. you mentioned above, and if
this problem occurs again (I don't reboot that often...
lots of apps, including VMWare with guest OSs, etc.) I
will try it and report back.
Thanks for the input.

If it happens again, post the wcescomm.log and wcesmgr.log file (if
it's large, just post the latest info in the file) and I'll try and
see what's going on
