does anyone know what to do to see the application icon near the app name in
the "add-remove programs" dialog (on the PC).

It is possible, some app have the right icon, while others have the generic
icon.

Is there something to put in the CAB files ? In the app install folder on
the PC ?

You need to include an icon file along with your cab files. Also, the
ini file that goes along with the cab files must include a line like:
IconFile = IWSetup.ico
in the same section as the
cabfiles =
line

cool, thanks!

Is that documented anywhere ? Or did you find out by reverse-engineering
some CAB files ?

Probably from p. 363 of _Microsoft Windows CE Programmer's Guide_,
Microsoft Press, 1998. But possibly from a newsgroup article. I know I
also read the section on installation in _Windows CE Developer's
Handbook_, Terence A. Goggin, Sybex, 1999. Definitely not by
reverse-engineering.
