No. The CD will only work on the PDA for which it was designed. In the
case of Dell, the X50v.

There will be no CD distributed by MS at all. Only the device manufacturers
can distribute upgrade CDs and they control for which models they will and
won't provide them. And yes, as has been stated, they are model specific.

The X30 will not be upgradeable.

You need to be more specific: what is your current Pocket PC?

Only a few devices are currently able to be upgraded - a couple from HP,
the Dell X50 and Loox. Anything else is no planned or announced.
