Hello group,
I've recently purchased a smartphone (Cingular/HTC 2125) and have the
unlimited internet data program offered by my provider (Cingular). I
would like to use my phone's internet connection in such a way that my
laptop (Windows XP), when connected to the smartphone (via USB), can
connect to the internet in places where I cannot access an 802.11x
network.
Basically I wish to share my phone's internet connection with my
laptop, not share my laptop's connection with my phone, which seems to
be a common question.
I've noticed that when I plug the phone into the computer, I get a
"Local Area Connection 2" in my network connections, and I've read that
that is the way Windows perceives the ActiveSync connection. Can this
connection be used for this?
Any help is appreciated and more details can be provided. If direction
to a place with information for Windows Mobile / Smartphone newbies
would be most appropriate, that information would also be appreciated.
Thanks!
