Im getting confused with what I read. Has this just been realeased, or is it
due for release soon?
I have an Ipaq 4150, running Windows 2003 and would like to upgrade asap to
take advantage to landscape mode.
Thanks |

It has just been announced, and will be released by the OEMs
(Pocket PC manufacturers).

It's up to HP to decide if they'll offer such an upgrade.

The last thing I heard about HP and the upgrade is that it will be offered
for the 2215 and higher (ie 41XX, 43XX and 55XX). Have not heard if its a
freebie or the standard $29 that HP usually charges for this.

Since this is a OEM product the only valid announcement will come from the
manufacture of your PPC.
To much guessing and false info comes from news groups that are hearsay.
That's where frustrating rumors come from. |

I'm on a "see-it-is-believe-it" strategy when it comes to ROM
updates.

Marlof,
"I'm on a "see-it-is-believe-it" strategy when it comes to ROM

With HP/Compaq, I am on a "see it installed on my ROM" before I believe it !

Hate to say, but no updates for the 54XX series, I don't understand why, but
that is the word from HP.

Or I should say the word from:

I have not seen anything official from HP on this one.

I would be REALLY surprised if the 5500 was offered the upgrade and not the
5400. there are not that many differences in the two devices. Everything we
have heard so far is hearsay! I think the 5400 owners will be fine.

And what will this achieve?
Do you have any power over HP or are you just collecting email addresses to
SPAM with later? (yes I did read the conditions and an email address is
required to "Verify" the signature). |

I think i'll just wait and see what happens.
It's not like my 5550 will cease to function
if it doesn't get the SE upgrade.
Btw Tedd, sorry for the silence. i'll mail
you soon. hope you're doing well.
