Unable to IR Active Sync my H5500 IPAQ

Got a new H5550 Activesync (3.7) nicely to my windows XP
laptop through the USB cradle, but will not work through a
COM port or Infrared.

I can transfer a file through Infra-red, but not Active
Sync, which makes me think it's and Active Sync problems
not a hardware problem.

HP tech support know nothing, but I have seen other people
post similar issues...any ideas anyone? Or I'll be taking
this back to the shop and get myself another Palm!

Hi,
I've synchronized via Infrared with ActiveSync 3.7 with my Acer 102 many
times. I had to select the Infrared port in ActiveSync on the desktop and
then to actually sync, I had to launch ActiveSync on the Pocket PC and click
Tools - Sync via IR.
