Post subject: Treo 700p Verizon upgrade
Archived from groups: comp>sys>palmtops>pilot (more info?)

I've just purchased the Treo700p from Verizon. I've had several palms
with my latest being the T3. I have lots of third party software on the
T3. What's my safest route to an upgrade. I've already messed it up and
spent hours retrieving a functioning Treo phone and insuring that I
haven't lost my important data on the T3. Any advice would be
appreciated. There's nothing in the manual or User Guide that addresses
the issue of a previous palm installation.
Then I'll work on the synching which didn't go well as I messed around.
I assume I have to use the new cable, not the cradle that I've used for
years.
Again all help is appreciated, an expensive purchase that I thought
would be fun--how could I be so dumb after working with technology for
so many years--has been a real downer!!!

I searched under transferring data, transfer data, but no result.

www.palm.com has step-by-step instructions for transferring data. Do a
search on the site.

Of course, you'll have to verify that the third-party apps work on a
Treo 700p.
