Thanks for your reply, Beverly. I downloaded and installed...
"Notebook PC Drivers and Utilities for Wireless Networker CompactFlash
and LA-4121 PC Card Formats"
obtained from the Symbol site...
http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads/documentation_drivers.html#doc
and am using a Panasonic CF-61 laptop running Windows98 (1st ed.).
Hmmm. Just noticed "Supported operating systems are Windows 98 2nd
Ed., ME, 2K and XP." in the description of this driver so perhaps
that's my problem. I'll update to Win98SE and see if it makes any
difference.
Device Manager reports under
A) PCMCIA socket:
1) PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller
2) PCMCIA Card Services
B) Network Adapters
1) D-Link DE650 Ethernet Card PCMCIA
2) Dial-up Adapter
3) Infrared PnP Serial Port
PC Card Properties in Systray lists
1) Empty - socket 1
2) D-Link DE60 Ethernet Card PCMCIA - socket 2
I'll report back if the upgarde to WIn98SE changes anything.
Cheers,
Larry
