You cannot use the SIM slot in the 5455 as it is not connected to anything.
The units were made like that for HP and FCC testing use only for a
SmartPhone type application (ie the new ipaq 6000), the only 5455 that have
an active SIM connection are the few developer models and those do not leave
HP.
