A friend of mine recently got a PDA (I'm not sure of the make/model as
it's a lesser known model I haven't heard of) that's running Pocket PC
2002, as is my own Toshiba E350. She was fiddling around with the
contacts when she noticed that adding a contact's birthday into the
contacts page also adds a message into the Calendar reminding you of
their birthday on the day.

However when I went to try this, nothing was added to the Calendar at
all, which I found odd. I'm aware that features of the PPC2k2 OS vary
between different PDAs and manufacturers, but I didn't think this was
something that was significant enough to vary.

So, anyone else been able to achieve this? Or does anyone know how I can
enable it in my own PDA?

This is done when synchroniszing both the calender and contacts with
desktop outlook. Desktop Outlook creates this recurring appointment and
ActiveSync synchronises it back to the Pocket PC. This works on all
Pocket PC's.

Thanks for that! I just checked, and it has indeed done it for all my
contacts.
