Archived from groups: comp>sys>palmtops>pilot (more info?)

Hello there,

I'm facing problem in establishing connection between Palm and PC
using Windows RAS service through USB port. I followed these steps:
1. Palm (Sony Clie PEG SJ20 Palm OS 4.1)is connected to PC via USB
cradle.
2. New connection alias is created through Preference->connection->new
3. This custom connection uses via->cradle/cable option and I tried
for all possible speeds (from 1200 bps to 115200 bps)
4. In prefernce->Network option serivce is set to "Windows RAS" and
connection is set to this new alias(created in step 1-3).
5. when Connect button of network form is pressed it unable to
establish the connection.

I hope as i'm using USB port no other desktop setting will
required.(but not sure)With the same setting it work properly for Palm
Vx which connects through serial cradle to COM1 port. but for that i
need to create the Incoming connection setting through control panel
on desktop. The desktop OS is Win2k professional.

any hint will be highly appreciated.

thanks
Ranjit

How have you configured RAS to listen on USB? (I was not aware that was
possible...)

Softick, http://www.softick.com/, advertise software to support Palm PPP
over USB to Windows, I have no experience of it.
