I recently installed Office 2003 and my ActivSync for
Compaq iPaq stopped working. I am using vesion 3.7 of
ActivSync . Now I am not able to sync with outlook.
ActivSync generates message saying that "Microsoft
ActiveSync does not recognize the device that is trying
to connect". I have been using this device for last 2-3
years. The OS (WinXP)is able to recognize the device. I
have tried uninstalling and re-installing ActiveSync, but
no sucess. I was wondering if anyone else has seen
similar problem.

Thanks
Jesse

Have you performed a soft reset of your device?

Try deleting the partnership (File -> Delete Partnership) and create a
new partnership.

I was finally able to resolve this problem using the
following process:

Uninstalled Office 2003, and used Office removal tool
Reboot system
Uninstalled ActiveSync
Reboot system
Reinstalled Office 2003
Installed ActiveSync3.6
Reboot system
Upgraded ActiveSync to 3.7
Now ActiveSync is working okay!!!

Thanks
Jesse
