Post subject: Help! Problem with eBooks bought on Amazon
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>pocketpc (more info?)

I am a little hacked off right because I bought eBooks for a trip and can't
get them to work on a Pocket PC.

I have a Dell X3i Pocket PC (brand new, latest from Dell) with Microsoft
Reader version 2.2.1 I have MS Reader on my regular PC also. I activated
Reader on the PC and on the Pocket PC using the same email address. The
books open and can be read fine on the desktop system, but when I copy the
books to my Pocket PC's memory card (I created a folder "My Documents" on
the memory card and moved the files there) the Microsoft Reader finds them
and all the free eBooks I downloaded, but when I try and open the books I
purchased I get an error message of - "Microsoft Reader is no longer able to
access the book" I can open all the free eBooks I have, but can't open the
ones I paid for. I need to have this resolved soon as I am leaving on this
trip on early Tuesday morning.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

After a suggestion from another board to upgrade the version (2.2.1) on my
Pocket PC to the most current version (2.2.3), I gave it a try. Then did a
soft reset and the problem is now gone.
