Error Message: Need to have AC 4.5 installed

1. My Windows XP SP2 [+ patches] has ActiveSync 4.5 installed and
running.
2. Up till yesterday my PDAs sync'ed with the desktop.
3. One PDA is an older Fujitsu Siemens LOOX, the other a HTC Touch HD,
neither of which sync's anymore. Both give me the error message that I
need to have 4.5 installed.
4. On the HTC I find a support code 0x80072EE2.

Add:
- no Windows Update since last successful connecs/syncs
- computer had been properly switched off and started since


Anybody a reasonable idea what is wrong and how I can solve the prob?

You can try two things to resolve this issue:

1. On both devices (not sure if the LOOX will have this setting), under your
USB connection, un-check the "advanced network" feature. Soft-reset and try
to synchronize.

2. If #1 didn't work, delete your profiles in ActiveSync for both devices
and re-establish them.
