More information on the installation theory as well as alternatives such
as installing directly to the device in either ram or memory cards is at

Actually the question you are asked is whether you want to install to the
default location. That would be the internal RAM. If you say no, you are
then provided a dropdown which lists the internal ram, Built-in-Storage (in
the case of the Axiom, which is user accessible ROM) and any storage cards,
SD or CF, that you may have inserted.

In most cases you can install anywhere you wish. Some programs that need to
load when you soft reset, such as Today screen enhancements, or third party
input panels, may need to be installed in RAM, because the other storage
locations may not be available during a boot process, before the app tries
to load. If the program doesn't specifically mention it, try it where you
like, and if it doesn't work load it in RAM if you still want it.

Thanks I will take a look at it later.

Thanks I just discovered that drop down box and have been loading to
ROM. Eventually I will load to SD card, when my new one comes in.

OK, I hope that I am installing into the ROM, but I am not sure it is
going there, how do I find out

ROM will be identified as "Built-In Storage" when you get asked the question
and access the drop-down box to tell the system where to put the program.

I take it you found the files sync. Note that creates a specific folder on
your PC (both in My Documents and a shortcut on your desktop). It will only
sync between this folder and the RAM in your PPC. The 'sync' process is
which ever file has the newer date/time overwrites the other one, so be
careful. Note that features that are not supported on the PPC are stripped,
and if the PPC version becomes the newer one, by fixing a typo, changing a
number, or something, a stripped version is copied over the full version on
the desktop.

Thanks for the heads up. Guessing I should update all documents on my
computer and then synch them over to the PDA. Now when I want to place
something on my PocketPC, I just save it to this MY documents folder,
right? I know my questions sound dumb and I am computer literate, in
fact I am studying IT at UOP, but I am a very long time Palm user and
just switched over to Windows OS. Thanks.
