Does anyone have this combination? (Dell Axim X50v and Delorme
Earthmate GPS). The Delorme webite has a listing saying the GPS will
work with "Axim X5 Advanced".
Does anyone know what I will need to get the GPS to work with my
soon-to-be-purchased Dell Axim X50v?
Thanks!

Delorme called several of their receivers "Earthmates" and the first of
those use a Rockwell protocol rather than the NEMA standard protocol.

In addition, while their Tripmates used NEMA, they required a special
initialization string from the software to wake it up... something they
may have also used in the Earthma.

Very few gps apps (if any) were compatible with the Rockwell protocol...
posting some make model numbers would help.

Check the specs at http://Delorme.com

Seems they are calling the current crop of receiver's earthmates as
well... per the specifications, the LT-20 is NEMA compliant and should
work as long as you have a way to provide it power and connect it to
your ppc...

But... they are also selling their "Blue Logger" bundled with
StreetAtlas 2005 for $150... since I think the X50 has bluetooth, this
would seem to be a far better PPC GPS solution. (remember, no ppc gps
software in this price)
