Archived from groups: microsoft>public>pocketpc (more info?)

I have a toshiba e330 running ppc 2002. While trying to
connect the internet (my pocket pc is connected to the
desktop and is in the LAN) I get a error "the file you
are looking for cannot be found" My desktop uses a proxy
server to access the internet. Any help out there would be
appreciated.

Go to Settings/Connections/Connections/Work Settings (the middle option),
edit the option, go to the Proxy tab and add the address and port of the
proxy server. Also mark the checkbox "this network connects to the
internet".

You should connect using Work then, and not The Internet.

Hi

I tried this it does not work. These are my connection
settings:

First option - Internet settings (default)
Middle option - Work Settings (set the proxy. do i need
to select the socket)
Last option - Work

If i add the proxy addres in the (middle option) i am
unable to connect to the LAN also. If I remove the proxy
address the LAN works but the internet does not work.

Need help.

Thanks and Regards

You need the the socket.

Try moving the first option to Work as well.

I tried giving the work for all three options. It does not
work.

If I use Work with the proxy address I cannot access the
intranet either. If I remove the proxy the intranet is
accsssible but the internet is not.

Any clues why?

It works for me.... I can't say why it isn't working for you.
