I posted a similar question last week (regarding my Toshiba E310 and Ericcson
T300 IrDA connection.) I'm happy to report that, after extensive trial and
error, I was able to connect to the internet this way!!!! Of course, it was a
very slow connection, but hey--it's a connection!!!
Though I don't know exactly how you'd go about doing this with a 2003 PPC, I
can tell you that you need to create a new connection to the internet
(Settings--Connections--Modify--New);then select a modem (Generic IrDA
modem); Baud rate depends on your phone (I used 19200); go to Advanced and
use default settings (make sure boxes in Port Settings are unchecked); the
TCP/IP thing is still sketchy to me since I connect to the internet using a
proxy server...once you get all that set up, go back to
Settings--Connections--Dialing Locations--Dialing Patterns--> enter G for
local, long distance, and int'l calls. I don't know what this means, but
that's what I was told to do and it worked, so....
This setup on my ppc is very similar to setting up connection preferences on
my home pc, since I dialup to the same ISP from there.
I hope this helps and that you're able to get online!!!
