Express e-Mail and Internet Explorer on my old Jornada 547 Windows CE
3.0 with a dial-up modem card when my ISP is Road Runner??? When I had
AOL it was easy, but Road Runner can only suggest "Dial Access", a
program of theirs which appears to work only on a desktop PC. They
claim to have nothing for the handheld world, which seems odd. Any
thoughts or suggestions?
Can you access your POP3 e-mail from a different internet provider?
When I had Comcast Cable as an ISP, they offered no dial-up at all as
a backup, but I checked e-mail on the PPC while traveling by using
www.Access4Free.com, an elcheapo net provider with nationwide dial-up
numbers.
For a one-time $5 setup fee, they give you 10-hours a month, then you
pay $1/hour up to $10 max (it converts to unlimited for the rest of
that month.)
They have no pop-up ads and don't require special dialing software. I
still use them for traveling when I'm out of GPRS cellphone range.
