I purchased a Palm Centro and am in the process of transferring my data. I
have several questions.
1. Can I have both the T/X and Centro operating system on one computer? I do
still use the T/X for some things.
2. Could someone tell me the name of the folder the T/X is located in in the
program files? I have two I saved and don't know which is which. I had a
Palm Zire before the T/X and don't know which file belongs to the T/X. My
contacts list disappeared recently and I need to find the right backup file.
3. I understand the limit in size when transferring my T/X info to the
Centro. What I don't understand is exactly what is transferred. Do all the
programs transfer with the sync or just the data from them? I ask because I
am considering what would be better, to just start over again or transfer
via sync.
4. Does anyone know where I could get a list of keyboard shortcuts for the
Centro? I have had it for months and I am still struggling with the internet
and typing and erasing things in a way I know is probably the long way. None
of the manuals are very good at explaining how to navigate the internet with
it.
last one...
5. How do you get pictures and videos off the Centro onto the computer?
Thank you so much. I was so frustrated with the Centro in the beginning I
was considering returning it. But I use the internet almost every time I am
out and about for addresses, phone numbers, hours businesses are open,
favorite restaurants locations, even traffic reports.

I don't have a Centro, but I have had several Palm PDA's, M130, Zire 73,
& a T|X.
As long as you keep the device User name different then Hotsync will
keep the files straight.
Then just switch between the different User names when on the Desktop.

I miss my Zire 73, oh well. The files could be stored anywhere on your
PC. Sometimes it done
automatically when you install the software, if you don't tell it to
store your files somewhere
specific. Look for the "Palm" directory name, followed by the device
"User Name", some
where other that in the "Program File"'s directory. Older installs just
put the PDA info directory
at the start of the C: drive (C:\Palm\{User name}

Look in the Centro System folder, for the Perf program.

Hotsync will place them in the "\Palm\{User Name}" directory.

The User info is all in the same place. It will be divided into folders
for each handheld. If your hotsynx user name is myhandheld, your data
will be in either two locations depending on if the folder myhand is
present: C:\Program Files\Palm\myhand or C:\Program Files\Palm\TB
Contact info is in the AdressesDB.pdb file.
