Dear folks: I have a Toshiba 755 using (I think) Microsoft Pocket PC Version
4.20.1081 (Build 13100) and am trying to just find and save my contact file
on the PDA so that after resetting the PDA I could just put it back in. Or
do i have to use the back-up feature and get all the problems that I now
have and continue with the problems that make my PDA as it is?
Thank You
A confused PDA user

Actually, you could use a program like Sprite Backup or SKTools, and back up
your contacts database. With Sprite, you can individually backup and
restore individual databases, I've found this to be a great feature. I
would check both out, and see which one best suits your needs.

Shouldn't there be a backup of your contacts in your Outlook databases, so
that you just have to resync your PDA to your desktop PC to get your
contact list back?

There is a backup for your ppc in activesyncs menu- I think it does
everything so you could get the machine back to where it was.

Have you looked on any cds that came with your machine? My Asus came with 2
backup programs. One can selectively backup calendar/contacts things or the
full machine.

Finally if you sync with outlook you should be able to copy contact details
from there- check that the contacts are in it- Outlook comes with the ppc's
on a CD if you haven't yet installed it- it is different to outlook express.
