We are using Pocket PC 2002 on Symbol PPT 2846 devices.
On one of the devices the back space/delete key on the
keyboard does not work, however it works on the block
recognizer. Any suggestions?

By "keyboard" assume you mean on the "on screen" soft keyboard.

The screen needs to be aligned by each user because of perception
issues... i.e. the stylus "points" to a spot beyond the actual stylus tip.

When properly aligned, each key will "flash" when tapped... if the key
does not "flash" when tapped... if the del key does not flash, you
should assume that the touch screen is defective at that location.

Yes, I am referring to the "on screen" soft keyboard. I
aligned the screen and when I tapped the the delete key it
flashed but the cursor did not move. My user said that it
used to work when he got the hand-held but it stopped.
The delete key works when using the block recognizer.

have you tried a soft reset?

>> flashed but did not move <<

<del> or <- key?

When the <del> key is tapped, the cursor will not move... the character
to the right of the cursor will be deleted, but, if nothing is to the
right, what you describe is normal.
