I have iPaq rx3715.
I installed Norton (Symantec) Antivirus 2006 and I'm having problems with
Activesync 3.8, both wirelessly and wired.
When I sync I get errors with Calendars,Contacts Tasks & Notes but
Favourites,Inbox and Files sync ok.
I removed Norton and Activesysnc works ok.
I suspect the Internet Worm protection in Norton has blocked the Activesync
ports so I have enabled ports 990,999,5678,5679,5721 & 26675 and I still
have the problem...
Please can someone post the full list of ports that Activesync requires and
if they are directional etc?
Or if there's something else I've missed......

If I was nasty, I'd say you overlooked the fact that
Symantec may just put out flawed products....
Seriously, I had many problems with Norton 2004 that
remained in 2005. Periodically, the program would refuse to
run requiring it to be activated again. The last straw was
having to uninstall and re-install every few weeks when the
activation didn't "take". I've since switched to AVG and
have had zero problems. |
