Archived from groups: microsoft>public>pocketpc>activesync (more info?)

I support several users, most of them are on laptops
running Windows 2000.

I posted earlier that I was having problems with the USB
connection and when I cradle the IPaq, the PC not seeing
the IPaq. I had one of the people I support over the last
couple days that is on Windows NT have the same problem
with the Serial port. Therefore, I am concluding that it
isn't the way the IPaq connects but the ActiveSync
software not communicating correctly with the hardware on
the computer.

The IPaq will always turn on and try to send a message to
the computer but the computer doesn't seem to be listening
to the serial or USB connections. Any suggestions besides
just unplugging and plugging things back in that might
cause ActiveSync to do a better job searching the ports
for a connection?

Thanks

Which version of ActiveSync are you using? Try version 3.7 (from
http://www.pocketpc.com) if you're not using it. Check out
http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/activesync/syncerrors.htm as well.

Also, a soft reset often solves a lot of problems.
