Hi folks! Up until now I've only been doing Win32
development but recently I've come up with an application
that is ideal for a PocketPC...with one caveat: it needs
3D. More specifically I need to do terrain mapping
visualization. Is either Direct3D or OpenGL available on
the PocketPC platform? If not, does Microsoft have any
plans for implementing Direct3D on PocketPC in the near
future? Thanks in advance!

There is no Direct3D and I don't know about any PPC OpenGL
implementations. But you can try Diesel3d
http://www.pocketpcdn.com/articles/dieselengine2.html may be it fits
your requirements.

Diesel is hideously expensive.

Try
PocketGl

xGl
http://i-gear.net/portfolio/xgl/

There is also SoftGl in beta and Gapi3d which I am playing with at the
moment.
