For some reason, each time I went to a new video, the slider for
volume was completely down. Moved it and it worked fine. Went to another
video and the slider was down again. Don't know how/why off seems to be
the default. See if this works for you.

Quick test with FF3 at the main YouTube site, random video, all works as
it should.

I have experienced that in the past, but only with certain videos.
