hi, i can't seem to open this particular PPT file that was emailed to me today. i keep getting this error message:" PowerPoint cannot read the outline from filename.ppt. No text converter is installed for this file type". is it because it was produced in PowerPoint 2008 and i'm trying to open it in 2004? What other things that might cause this? this NEVER happened to me before.

The file was saved in the .pptx format then someone edited the extension to
be .ppt ‹ I'm betting that if you change the extension back to .pptx in
Finder that you'll be able to open the file [assuming you have the OXML
converters installed.] Of course it may take a while to open & it may not
remain what it was intended to be. It would be better to have the sender
provide you with a fresh copy which hasn't been tampered with.
