I didn't have any problems with inserted .pct picture files when I
used OS X 10.2. However, after upgrading OS X to 10.3 version, all my
powerpoint files lost their display for inserted pict files. I tried
the "show formatting" option in slide sorter tool bar as the "Help
file" suggested, but it still doesn't work. Is this a serious bug or
is there anything I can do to fix it?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried converting them to jpg's? or gif.s?

Graphic converter can do this quickly and it should work for you. Of course
you'll have to re-import them Sad

Yes. There is no problem with .bmp or .jpg files. But for specific
reason, .pct files looks much better in a presentation with colored
background. That's why I would prefer using this format. So it's a
pity that it stopped working for me now.

I just made a .pict file and inserted it in PP OSX with Panther 10.3.2 and it
shows fine. don't know what to say. Have you tried re-inserting them?

i've had this problem as well. pict don't show up when a ppt is created in
10.2(jaguar) and then upgraded to 10.3(panther). unfortunately, the only
solution we've come up with is open the file back in 10.2, which might not
be a option if you don't have multiple computers running multiple os's. i
wish microsoft would have warned us about this before the upgrade Sad
