iTunes not automatic on iPhone (Snow Leopard)

Maybe a related problem: whenever I connect my current model 32gb iPod Touch
(fully updated) to any of my WIN XP Pro (fully updated) computers, the
computer thinks it's a camera and asks me which photo editing program (I
have several installed) I want to use to open it...
