Hello,

Apple's web site says the 2004-04-28 update is for all iPods. I have a
second generation iPod (touch-sensitive scroll wheel) running iPod v2.3 and
it refuses to update.

Am I missing something?

I should add that the update doesn't even recognize that there's an iPod
attached. The 1.3.1 update does, and says I'm up to date.

I've tried both launching the updater with the iPod attached and attaching
then launching.

Now it's even worse. Attempting to sync with iTunes pops up a dialog asking
if I want to install the new software. Saying yes dumps me into the other
program which says there's no iPod attached.

Tried resetting my iPod via the 1.3.1 updater, no luck.

Luckily I can say No and still sync.

Per a comment on Apple's Discussion Boards, upgrading to QuickTime 6.5.1
seems to have fixed the problem. My iPod is now running version 2.4.
