I want PowerPoint Show run on website as it would on PowerPoint Viewr. where as soon
as it opens its starts runing as a movie. Sort of like a flash movie or a Quicktime
movie.
I have save both as a PPS File and as PPS.html file.
I made a self running flash movie while I was testing Macromedia Flash. Now that the
test run has run out I can't change it. So since I already have PowerPoint (as part
of Office2004) I ould like to make my show automatic. I can't seem to locate proper
comand to make it self running.

The best way to do this would be to save the file as a QuickTime movie (File
> Make Movie). Or, if you need it to be an exact copy of how it looks in
PowerPoint, use a screen capture program like Snapz Pro to make the movie.
<http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/>
The problem with saving as a PPS file is that the browser can't read it.
Some computers might be configured to download and open them automatically
in PowerPoint or the Viewer, but you can't count on that.
The problem with .html is that it doesn't include coding to automatically
advance the slides as the real file does if you've set it up that way. So
directing users to a .html file would require them to advance the slides
manually.
You could, theoretically, create your own HTML file that would do this. You
would have a page for each slide image (by saving as an image file type like
JPEG), and advance at intervals you set. However, like the Web Page (HTML)
export option, this wouldn't preserve animations and multimedia. It would
still be much easier and more logical to create a QuickTime movie.

Thanks I was afraid of that.
although its only ten pictures (including a logo and one just a Title screen a Qt
Movie is large in the 20-30mb range. The whole 8:03:28 PM support folder is only 2.2
MB and the html file is just 4k. all the images are 72dpi. I'll have to see if I can
reduce the size of the MOV some way and hope everyone has something they can read
the .mov file with

Hi,
The most efficient software for making small file sizes for web delivery
is Impatica. http://www.impatica.com/
I've tried it and it's very good. Some of the new transitions don't come
through, but all-in-all it's a good bet.

Hi Phillip,
Impatica is not just for Windows. It is completely supported on MacOS:

That's odd. I looked at site and went to specs page and it noted it was for versions
of windows. I tried looking for a Mac page but didn't find it.
Where do you find the cost?
