I just discovered that much of the advanced animation in PPT 2003 does
not work in PowerPoint Viewer. So, since the only way a PowerPoint
Show works is by using PowerPoint Viewer, I can't seem to find a way
to make it so that my client only has to click a file and have the
slide show start immediately (with the included advance animations.)
The closest thing I've found is to tell the client to right click on
the file and select "show." This is okay, but is there anyway for me
to make the idiot-proof one click slideshow method work with advanced
animations?

Hi,

Since you posted this in a Mac newsgroup my answer applies to a person
on a current Mac who is trying to view your presentation.

The latest version of the Macintosh PowerPoint viewer fully supports
PowerPoint 97 and 98 formats. Although it can play PowerPoint files
created in later versions, new features that did not exist when the
player was made won't be displayed.

The only way that a Macintosh client can view PowerPoint with all the
fancy new stuff is to install PowerPoint itself onto the computer. If
your Macintosh friend only needs to play the presentation during the
next 30 days then your friend can download the free Office test drive.
It is an unrestricted trial, so it is a great solution. The test drive
is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/

If your Mac user friend needs to be able to use your presentations
beyond 30 days then purchasing PowerPoint is the way to go. PowerPoint
can be purchased with Office or separately, so if your Mac friend
doesn't need Excel, Word, etc then just get PowerPoint.

At this time there is no free PowerPoint viewer on the Mac that supports
the new animations. I have my doubts that there will be one any time
soon, but you never know! Send in a feature request here:
