Does it happen if you start Excel and create a brand new file? Sometimes a
file gets corrupted and will 'contaminate' other files if you open Excel by
double clicking on it. Save the data and paste it into a new file. Trash the
original and it might solve your problem.
(The text is actually there only it's white. double click the tab as if you
are editing it and it will show up until you stop editing it)
