How do I get the PDF toolbar to not come up when I open a document?

I've tried just unchecking it from the the menu and resaving my document.
That didn't work. Then I tried unchecking it in the Toolbars:Customize
window and again resaving my document. Again that didn't work.

Is there some reason why Microsoft is forcing us to take up screen real
estate with this toolbar, even if it is something we NEVER plan to use?

It's not MS - it's Adobe. Check out a response from a few days back:

mvps.org

FWIW, you could have found this by browsing through the last few
days of messages, or by searching the archives at

Thanks, I didn't know about that tool for using Google to search newsgroups.
NEAT!!!

I'll be at a conference later this month where Adobe is a major sponsor, and
will be sure to complain about this "feature" to someone IN PERSON.
