Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>misc (more info?)

I ordered 3 stick of 512MB "CL2 2-2-2" memory from OWC. This part:

http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=3739&Item=OWC133SD5123282

I installed it and here two weeks later just installed Panther, OS X
v10.3. Panther's System Profiled app now shows memory speed. It lists
this memory as "322S". I checked a friend with same model Mac (dual 800
G4) who has 256MB 2-2-2 sticks and his profiler says "222S". So
apparently this is 3-2-2 memory, that I bought paying more expecting
2-2-2. It is labeled as "CL2" as well.

Anyone else experiencing this? I've contacted OWC for resolution.

Lotsa luck getting what you want from OWC.

The problem is they don't have the technical expertise to give adequate
problem resolution. Then there's a complete lack of customer service...
