As I understand it, OS X, even at version 10.3 is still not a 64 bit OS.
So if I max out the memory in my dual 2GHz G5 to 8 Gb, will I only be
able to use 4Gb of this until some future version of OS X supports 64
bit addressing ?

According to this article, You'll be able to use all 8 GB, but each
application will only be able to address a maximum of 4 GB. So, you could
have 4 GB dedicated to one app, and 4 GB available to the rest of the
system.

Thanks for that. Apparently transintl.com will have 1 Gb PC-3200 DIMM's
at < $350 next week so 8 Gb is starting to get affordable for those that
need it.
