Just want to see if anyone else is having this happen. I have a 3month
old 15g Ipod (that was a replacement for my 10 month old 15g that
died) and I have approx 1600 songs on it. little under 1/2 full. Here
is the problem, when ever I start to advance quickly up through the
songs it pauses than crashes (the light dims and after a moment the
apple comes on and its back). Is this just a thing or am I the only
one in the whole world with this problem. And if not than has anyone
fixed this?

I've got a similar problem with my white 20G iPod. It crashes all the time
now, whenever I'm just playing a song or after adding song on the
on-the-go playlist. I think it has to do with the life of the battery. I
got my iPod last Christmas and I've been using it literally everyday.
Could it be the battery is already down?

I seriously doubt it's a problem with the battery. I've been using my
20G 2nd-gen every day since mid-2002 and it's still working like a
champ. It crashes when I jostle it a lot and simultaneously ask it to
skip tracks, but never otherwise.

If you wipe it completely(restore to factory settings), sync a few
albums, and you're _still_ having the crash issues, I'd take it up with
Apple. My guess is that it just needs a refresh and possibly an update
to the software.
