Post subject: switch debian architecture
Archived from groups: comp>os>linux>setup (more info?)

Hi,

I am running Debian GNU/Linux testing (etch), amd64 architecture. I would like to switch to i386 for compatibility reasons... Is there a short and easy way for this? Without having to reinstall the complete system?
When I understand correctly, dpkg-architecture sets only the architecture, for which packages are built on my system - which doesn't help me. I want to be able to install all the standard i386 packages. (Not in a chroot!)

Thanks a lot in advance!

Jan
