Drinking at the bar seems largely irrelevant to OS choice.

Not at all. It's just that unlike you, I'm aware that different
countries, different economic, political and social groupings are
very likely going to have different preferences in everything from OS to
cars to toothpaste, thus examining one local subgroup of one local region
of one local society isn't going to give me anything approaching a clear
picture of the world as a whole.

If that sort of polling were meaningful, I'd have to conclude that the
majority of the world's population were Canadian, white, Christian and
spoke English, not a one of which is actually true - so why would I be
stupid enough to think that polling them for OS choice would be any more
true?

There's a bit of a difference between "a guy" saying it, and "the guys who
came up with the idea and created the program" saying it... Besides, the
problem has become the semantics between everyone's different views of how
to define an emulator, not the program itself anymore... To some it will be
an emulator, to others it won't. You say tomato, I say BOWLING SHOES!

Yes. And it's not really up to date. There are some cool things going
on I haven't gotten around to documenting there Sad

How have I got my just deserts? I have been proven right on this one so
often it's astonishing that the idiots in COLA haven't accepted the
facts.

Now, I realise you're probably some sort of COLA wannabee, but before
you make a complete fool of yourself (like Peter Koehlmann did when he
maintained that you couldn't see AA in action in screenshots.....) try
opening your mind and read the FACTS, not what COLA lightweights want
you to believe.

Stop being such a shining little apologist. COLA is know as a loony bin
in the real Linux world. Just read a few of Mark Kent's posts to see
why.

"COLA - hindering Linux advocacy is the name of the game."

Get stuffed, you arrogant nitwit. If you like being termed a moron, fine,
I do not. There is no such group as comp.sys.linux.advocacy, and COLA is
not a moron's group - people like you do a lot to try and make it so,
that's all.

Not in my book. And i rarely see any advocacy from you, just a lot of
slagging off of other posters.

I'm not arrogant. I just believe in what I say - invariably for sound
factual reasons. And I don't tell porky pies.

Apologist.

Because you are too busy wringing your hands and crying for other people
and your perceived insults that you don't actually notice the
advocacy. When was the last time Mark Kent advocated anything? I have
contributed to a few OSS projects recently and frequently solicit and
give help in other newsgroups and forums. Do you?
