Dufus is a Wintard with nothing better to do than keep track of all the
distros distrowatch lists. That's when he isn't interjecting his bullshit
into COLA. That's his other main passtime. That and defragging his Sea
Drive.

Cheers.

I doubt it since all GOOD restaurants have very, very limited selection menus. But
what is on those menus is top quality fodder.

No, but many people wont know how to correctly choose from them and
might pick the one that is "off" as in "stinky".

Possible, but not very likely, if they use a grain or two of common-sense.
Something marked 'Unstable', for instance, might suggest that a new users
should steer clear till they have a little experience under their belts.
Or are all newbies presumed to be stupid?

A sensible person asks someone knowledgeable, or reads some
Linux magazines, or buys a book with a Live CD attached.

That's what these sites are for:
http://distrowatch.com/
http://www.linuxactionshow.com/
http://radio.linuxquestions.org/linux/lq-podcasts/
http://ubuntuforums.org/
http://newsvac.newsforge.com/

People can read and listen and figure things out a bit.

Not 'the' winner. 'A' winner. Or are you suggesting that only Ubuntu is
any good?
