After installing openssh and perl-Net_SSLeay using webmin, I am not
able to log in locally. I can only log in using webmin. All users give
the "AUTHENTICATION FAILED" on the local log in screen. My id and
passwords are correct for all users. Please help me out. I would hate
to Reinstall Red Hat 9.

I supose that something messed up your PAM configuration during openssh
install

Check the /var/log/message and /var/log/secure (or /var/log/authlog)
using webmin, and check the pam configuration (still with webmin)

You may also try to launch the sshd server with webmin, and connect with
ssh.
