It could happen but its highly unlikely. I think, however, that they will

Buy some gold bullion and stuff it in your mattress. When everything goes to
hell, you'll still be solvent.

Looks like the Hungarians finally got fed up with Microsoft's antics.

Overgeneralization. Most people and organizations don't buy Windows.
They buy computers that have Windows.

And that characterizes the "desktop".

On servers, Windows is still popular, but hardly a universal choice.

Everybody? Hardly. And many of those that buy Windows (mostly already
installed on their PCs) also download and install Linux.

You're silly.

I get it now. You are a Microsoft bot.

Well, not really. No bot would insert so many cover-your-ass provisos
into its statements.

I haven't checked. The parcel had a letter in it, but it was very cryptic,
saying my FTP server was not anonymous enough and that distribution of GPL
software without sources could lead to trouble. Either way, I didn't even know
what it was all about until I got back and got hold of a DVD drive. I just
browsed the files. Seems like Opensuse's Wubi equivalent, but with a cloak of
stealth. I heard/read about it before, but I thought it was still under heavy
testing or something.

>> Install screensavers, get *nixed!
> That's funny <mesmiles>!

The letter also ended with the words "what if they gave out these CDs to
everyone in Manchester University (without explaining what it's all about?"

Can you give us an example of a so-called "cover-your-ass provisos"

No reasonable society would accept monopolies like this, apart from the
old communist regimes where everythign was a monopoly (Russia, China,
etc.).

Microsoft are only interested in revenue associated with licensing, they
care not one jot about customers, except in the broadest sense (like how
many are giving us how much).

"Our"?

You seem to be yet another poster who adopts a stuffy, polite manner,
while emitting insinuations and patronization, not to mention some real
hokum.

I like the supercilious touch of "we".

It's like the Queen or something:

"<icy tone> <i> We </i> do not approve. </icy tone>"

I think he uses it to provoke, based on this one:

Yep. What's your name? Or is that a big secret?

And all you have done in this posting is "challenge" our statements
with silly ad hominem attacks.

If you wish to be treated with respect, by respectable posters, you
have to act in a respectable and responsible manner. Calling
somebody a "windows-bot" merely because they point out some way that
windoze is better than linux, shows you to be a linux zealot. As
such, you are the worst enemy linux has, and you are a waste of time
to converse with because you are uttely incapable of reasonable
discourse.

IOW, bugger off.

It's interesting that you make that inference. Of course you have
no idea if that was what we implied, but it does indicate that you
feel yourself naturally inferior and that you object to the fact, or
at least what you imagine to be fact, that we look down on you.

Your problem is probably found deep within some nebulous and
neurotic personal psychological profile, for which real help is not
something that you could ever hope to afford. We suggest that you
think a little more carefully about what you say in the future.
Don't do things in the heat of the moment because unless you act
with a cool head you are likely to expose your weaknesses to others,
just as you have to us.

Or the other option is to simply bugger off.
