Post subject: Bug#262183: xserver-xfree86: [core server] BusID argument mandatory for PCI display adapters on Alpha boxen [regression from 4.2.1]
Archived from groups: linux>debian>bugs>dist, others (more info?)

Hi,

More than 2 years ago, you reported a bug to the Debian BTS regarding
the X server not finding your PCI board anymore on your Alpha machine.
After some kernel upgrade problems, it was concluded that XFree86 4.3
required a BusID option to find the board on alpha. Did you guys
reproduce the same problem with recent X servers? If not, I will close
the bug in the next weeks.

Thanks,
Brice

The problem was once fixed definitely but there is another
(much more critical) bug on X server,
cf. http://lists.debian.org/debian-alpha/2006/06/msg00004.html
so now I have not run X recently on alpha machine.

I can't say anything more than this, sorry.

Best regards, 2007-1-8(Mon)
