So Moblin is "the Moblin UI on top of openSUSE" and it's a work in
progress?

What's the bootable Moblin live CD/USB? What's underneath the GUI there?

Canonical has a number of revenue streams. They have revenue in the
millions, so it is not just Shuttleworth's money that is paying the bills.

I am aware that Novell has millions of dollars in revenue, too. And the
Canonical comment was in repsonse to your implication that all Canonical
had was Shuttleworth's money.

No idea here either. I couldn't boot it.
EeePC 900 is not supported in moblin 2.1 Live.

There is an openSUSE 2.0 beta as installable image but I'm not
installing it over a perfectly running system while I only got this one
netbook.

Just out of curiousity.....if you burnt your own CD via the img from the
Moblin site, did you have to set your burner software for overburning?
Tried burning a copy here but my burner software barfed due to "not
enough space". Didn't persuse the issue at the time but probably will
get back to exploring it a bit more in a day or so.

Tried it out of curosity in a VirtualBox session on my openSUSE 11.1 box
but the video barfed, primarily I suspect due to the non-intel graphics
card I have in that machine. I have an Intel graphics card on my laptop
but am going to use a Moblin CD for testing purposes on that unit.

Q. What's the difference between an Ubuntu user and an AOL user?

A. About 12 years or so.

The word Red Hat in the last frame should be replaced with SUSE Studio.

..tgz (nowadays .txz) for Slackware (and deratives).
It LOOKS like a normal compressed tar file, but there are post-install
scripts in there, which the Slackware installer will process.
