Archived from groups: linux>debian>maint>gtk>gnome (more info?)

hi

just wondering if a new default setting for metacity has crept in (like
the recent one with gnome-terminal and closing that window with no
dialog prompt).

i just updated the following:
libmetacity-private0 (1:2.24.0-2) to 1:2.26.0-2
libnautilus-extension1 (2.26.2-5) to 2.26.3-1
libwnck-common (2.24.2-2) to 2.26.1-1
libwnck22 (2.24.2-2) to 2.26.1-1
metacity (1:2.24.0-2) to 1:2.26.0-2
metacity-common (1:2.24.0-2) to 1:2.26.0-2
nautilus (2.26.2-5) to 2.26.3-1
nautilus-data (2.26.2-5) to 2.26.3-1
x11-apps (7.3+4) to 7.4+1

metacity looks to be the culprit here as new windows that open in the
top left-hand corner hide the title bar under the top panel like the
image here:
http://executequery.org/temp/images/window-open-title-bar-hidden.png

also, when maximizing the title bar moves under the top panel and the
bottom panel like in this image here:
http://executequery.org/temp/images/window-maximized-title-and-status-hidden.png

seems that the top/bottom panels are not being respected as boundaries.

is there a new gconf setting i should be looking for here. its a wee bit
annoying. had a look around metacity settings but nothing jumped out at
me. suggestions appreciated.

thanks
Takis
