Hi again everyone!
And thanks for the help. I am as you can see

a newbie! I have just
been running Linux Fedora, a couple of days. I guess I don't need the
k3b. It was a part of the Studiotogo-packet and I didn't know what it
was really. A typical newbie!
Anyway have installed Fedora 3, all 5 CD's, since I didn't know what to
install or not. I use a PII 450, 256mb ram and a 13gb harddrive (have a
80gb to use when I have time to do so).
After the installation a friend dedicated a day to help me understand
some basics. He did show me how to update all packages. He told me to
use apt and synaptic. He also showed me how to install and remove
software. Then he helped me to configure Samba so I could reach my
windowscomputer. We did also gave the Fedoramachine a static IP-number.
Now to the questions:
1. The network on the Fedoramachine did stop working suddenly. The only
thing that helped was to give it a dynamic IP. When the network did stop
I couldn't reach it from my windowsmachine and I couldn't surf the
Internet. What is wrong? Standard-gateway and sub...(what it is called
in english) are the same as in my other machines.
I use a router and have four computers connected. Two computers have
dybamic IP and now the Fedoramachine too, but one computer has a static
IP and that works just fine. My router gives dynamic IP's from
192.168.0.4, so I have 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 for static IP's. I
want to give the Fedoramachine 192.168.0.3 and I want it to be static
since I will use that machine as a server when I have learned how to set
up one on Linux.
2. We forgot to setup my soundcard CS4236B and I don't know how to do that.
Thanks
Yvonne
